Traditional Naturopath

Philosophy
Candice Andrus, ND is a Board Certified Traditional Naturopath.
Originally from Frankenmuth, MI, Candice has lived in Sarasota, FL since
1991. She taught yoga to student athletes of all ages and professional
athletes from all over the world at IMG Academy for 9 years and has consulted on nutrition, detoxification, and lifestyle, helping people make sense of nutrition misinformation, ditch dietary dogma and end the sickness cycle for over a decade. Her own experience with overcoming chronic illness over 20 years ago changed the direction of her life and inspired her passion to educate and empower others to reclaim their health.
A former junk food junkie and couch potato turned “health nut” and
exercise addict, Candice transformed her health with nutrition and fitness.
Through personal experience and years of study, her ideas of what constitutes health have evolved dramatically and she’s learned that restrictive diets, detox programs and extreme exercise may bring short-term results, but not long-term health. Today she takes a more balanced approach to nutrition and fitness, enjoys delicious foods she once avoided for the sake of “health,” and in her spare time enjoys standup paddle-boarding, walking the beach, practicing Latin and ballroom dance, doing Essentrics or reading about nutrition (and sometimes even non-nutrition topics).
With over two decades of research in nutrition and wellness, her practice is based on a bioenergetic approach to healing with a focus on helping
her clients uncover the roots of dysfunction and experience greater vitality by improving metabolic health. Candice believes good health and aging well are not the result of genetics or luck, but are largely the result of the choices we make on a daily basis, and that the foundation for true health is a high metabolic rate. Balanced nutrition, hydration, appropriate exercise and adequate sleep are essential, but addressing environmental and lifestyle factors and physical, mental and emotional stress is equally important for true health. If you’re ready to take your health to the next level, she’d love to assist you on your healing journey.
